In the name of God amen: This twenty ninth day of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty three I John William Liverman of the County of Tyrrell in the State of North Carolina Farmer, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory praised be God and calling to mind the mortality of my body, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament and first of all I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it relying on the merits of my blessed Saviour for a full remission of all my sins and my body I desire may be laid in the Earth at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named.
Imprimis - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son John Liverman fifty five acres of land part of the plantation, whereon he now lives beginning at a place known by the name of the Camp Branch running Northward between two lines of my own making; also one negroe boy called Jimmy, also one feather bed and furniture, also five pounds in money either silver or gold to him and his heirs and assigns forever -
Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Thomas Liverman one Plantation whereon he now lives, also fifty acres of land lying between the Camp Branch and the river swamp known by the name of Tarkiln Neck, also one negroe man named Daniel also one negroe boy called Andrew also one negroe girl called Chloe, also one good feather bed and furniture, also five cows and calves to him and his heirs and assigns forever -
Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son William Liverman all the residue of my Estate, where ever to be found or of what ever it may consist both real and personal to him and his heirs and assigns forever -
Lastly - I nominate and appoint my said son William Liverman Chief and my friend Joseph Dew Executors wholly and souley to Execute and fulfill this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and disannulling all former Wills and Bequeths by me at any time made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said John William Liverman have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year first above mentioned.
Signed Sealed Pronounced and Declared by the said John William Liverman to be his last Will and Testament in presence of us the Subscribers.

April Session 1784
Appeared William Liverman in open court and exhibited the last will and testament of John William Liverman deceased which was proved by the oath of John Gibson Esqr. and that he saw John Liverman son of William and Elizabeth Cottle sign as witnesses at the same time ordered to be recorded.
Appeared William Liverman in open court and qualifyed as executor to the last will and testament of John William Liverman deceased.
