In the name of God I Thomas Liverman being of sound mind thanks be to God for the same and knowing that it is apointed for men to die doth make and constitute and apoint this my last will and testament 1st I give my soul to God who give it and my body to the earth from whence it come - and for what it has pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath in the following manner - I lend one half of the plantation where on I now live to my wife Phebe during her life time {torn} is submitted the write of choice Item I like wise lend her the third part of my perishable property during her lifetime and that part to be eaquelly divided at her death among my {torn} lend to my wife Phebe Liverman four of her choice of negroes during her life time and at her death to be eaqually divided among my lawful heirs. Item I give to my daughter Mary Liverman one bed and furniture one lining wheel one chest - Item I give to my daughter Sarah Liverman one bed and furniture one lining wheel one chest - Item I give to my daughter Ann Liverman one bed and furniture one lining wheel one chest - Item I give to my daughter Maria Liverman one bed and furniture one lining wheel one chest - Item I give to my daughter Prusia Liverman one bed and furniture one lining wheel one chest - Item I give to my son Tomson Liverman one bed and furniture one gun {torn} horses one saw one pair cart wheels his choice. The half of the plantation where on I now live I likewse give to my son Thomson Liverman and the other half at his mothers death I likewise give to him. Likewise one piece of juniper swamp fifty acres paten. Also my carpenters tools I also give to my son Thomson Liverman one negro boy Item I give to my daughter Ann Liverman the south part of the plantation where my mother now lives containing fifty five acres. Also the piece of land by Dempsey Liverman containing twenty acres and a third (?) also eight acres and a fourth of juniper swamp by the name of Creek Swamp likewise I give to my daughter Ann Liverman one negro girl. - Item I give to my daughter Prusia Liverman {torn} north part of the plantation where on my mother now lives containing sixty acres. Also one piece of cypress swamp ajoining the same land containg fifty acres the remaining fifty acres of cypress swamp I give to my daughter Ann Liverman and likewise the remaing eight acres of juniper swamp known by the name of Creek Swamp I also give to my daughter Prusia Liverman. I also give to my daughter Prusia Liverman {torn} negro girl Item I give to my daughter Mary Liverman one negro girl Item I give to my daughter Sarah Liverman one negro girl Item I give to my daughter Maria Liverman one negro girl Item I give one hundred and twenty five acres of land ajoining Sylva Armstrongs & Benjamin Claytons also one piece of swamp land containing two hundred acres more or less ajoining Sylva Armstrongs and Isaiah Cohoons the above tracts or parcles of land to be equally divided between my daughters Mary Sarah and Maria Liverman Item I give to my son Tomson Liverman three acres of land at Gum Neck Landing also two plows - and after my lawful debts are paid the remaining part of my property I also give and bequeath to be equally divided between Mary Liverman Sarah Liverman Ann Liverman Maria Liverman Tomson Liverman and Prusia Liverman. I also constitute and appoint my wife Phebe Liverman & William Liverman Senr. executrix & executor to this my will and testament in witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal in presence of these witnesses 16th day of March in the year of our Lord 1818

July Session 1818

The last will and testament of Thos. Liverman deceased was proved in due form of law by the oath of Sarah Jones who swore that the deceased Thos. Liverman was at the time of his signing said will was in his perect senses and at the same time she saw the other witnesses sign as a concurrent witness to said will.

Ordered that Phoeba Liverman be appointed guardian Nancy Mariah Thomson & Prutia orphans of Thomas Liverman deceased and has entered into bond in the sum of five thousand pounds William Alfred & Lovick Swain securitys.

Mrs. Phebe Liverman widow of Thos. Liverman deceased in open court renounced her right of executorship to the last will and testament of said deceased - - ordered by the court that William Alfred be allowed the administration on said estate with the will annexed, and has entered into bond in the sum of ten thousand pounds William Meekins and Jos, White his securities - present the worshipfull Richd. Wood, Ava Smith, Selby Patrick, Enoch Hassell, Jno Midyett, Wm. Owens & Abram Sawyer.

Ordered that William Alfred administrator of Thos. Liverman deceased have leave to sell the perishable estate of Thos. Liverman deceased and make return to next court.

Ordered by the court that Jeremiah Wynn Jno. A. Patrick Esqr. and Joseph White sett off to Phebee Liverman widow of Thos. Liverman deceased her part of said estate agreeable to the will of said deceased and make return to next term.

October Session 1818

Inventory & account of sales of the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned to court on oath by the administrator & filed.

January Session 1819

Division of the negroes of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned in open court & filed.

October Session 1819

An inventory & account of sales of the surplus estate of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned to court on oath by the administrator amounting to $184.96 & ordered filed.

A division of the lands of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned to court & ordered registered.

July Session 1820

Ordered by the court that David Clayton John A. Patrick & Thomas Sikes be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased with his administrator & make report to the next term.

A surplus inventory of Thomas Livermans estate was returned in open court on oath by William Alfred & filed.

October Session 1820

The audited accounts of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned in open court, balance due the estate of two thousand three hundred and fifty six dollars forty eight cents.

Ordered that John A. Patrick, David Clayton & Thomas Sikes divide the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased agreeable to the will of said deceased and make return to the next term of this court.

January Session 1821

Report of the division of Thomas Liverman deceased was returned to court & filed.

April Session 1822

The following guardians appeared in open court & renewed their guardian bonds agreeable to the act of assembly in that case made & provided as follows viz. - -
Phoeba Liverman guardian to Nancy, Mariah, Thomas & Prusia Liverman orphans of Thomas Liverman.

April Session 1825

Phobea Liverman came into open court and renewed her guardian bonds for the heirs of Thomas Liverman and gave as security Charles McClees & Frederick Davenport.

April Session 1829

Ordered that William Liverman be appointed guardian to Prusia Liverman & that he enter into bond.

Ordered that Jno. B. Beasley, Dempsey Liverman & Chas. McClees be appointed auditors to settle the account of Phebe Liverman former guardian to Prusia Liverman with William Liverman present guardian.

July Session 1829

William Liverman guardian to Prusia Liverman returned the audited account between him and Phebe Liverman the former guardian & filed.

April Session 1830

Ordered that John A. Patrick Sr. be appointed guardian to Thompson Liverman orphan of Thos. Liverman & who entered into bond and gave for security Jeremiah Wynne & Jos. Halsey.

Ordered that Jno. B. Beasley, Demps Liverman & Jos. White audite & settle the account of Thompson Liverman with his guardian Phebe Liverman with Jno. A. Patrick the present guardian.

July Session 1830

John A. Patrick Sr. guardian returned the audite account between Phebe Liverman former & himself present guardian to the estate of Thompson Liverman amount due $467.97.

Bond dated 13 Jul 1818 in the amount of ten thousand pounds appointing William Alfred administrator of the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased, Wm. Meekins, Jos. White & Jeremiah Wynne securities.

Bond dated 14 Jul 1818 in the amount of five thousand pounds appointing Phoeba Liverman guardian of Nancy, Mariah, Thomas & Prutia Liverman orphans of Thomas Liverman deceased, William Alfred & Lovick Swain securities.

Petition July Term 1818 by William Alfred & Sarah his wife who state that Thomas Liverman made his will on 16 Mar 1816 and died some time after, with his will being proved in July Term 1818. Among other things he devised 125 acres of land adjoining Sylva Armstrong & Benjamin Clayton and 200 acres of savanah land adjoining Sylva Armstron & Isaiah Cahoon to be equally divided among his daughter Mary, Sarah & Mariah Liverman. Your petitioner William Alfred has intermarried with Sarah one of the devisees of Thomas Liverman. Petitioner prays the court will order the said lands be divided between your petitioners, Mary Liverman of lawful age and Mariah Liverman an infant under the age of twenty one years to whom Pheba Liverman her mother has been appointed guardian.

Petition October Term 1818 by William Alfred administrator of Thomas Liverman stating that Thomas Liverman died leaving a will and that he took out administration on the estate with the will annexed. Thomas Liverman died possessed of fifteen negroes, four of whom he left to his wife during her lifetime. The widow was authorized in the will to take her choice, which she has done. The said Thomas Liverman left as legatees Sarah, wife of your petitioner, Mary, Ann, Mariah, Thompson & Prussia Liverman, all of whom are entitled to an equal share of said negroes. Petitioners pray a division of the negroes be made according to the will.

Division of the negroes belonging to the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased on 1 Jan 1819. Total valuation was $2928.33.
William Alfred & Sally his wife - Jack Bold & Luce valued at $420.
Elicam Swain & Poly his wife - Road & Cooper valued at $570.
Nancy Liverman - Jim & Mingo valued at $600.
Maria Liverman - Sall & Sam valued at $660.
Pruca Liverman - Ben & Cloe valued at $300
Thomson Liverman - Abim & Anisto valued at $378.33.

Petition July Term 1819 by Eliakim Swain & Polly his wife, Wm.Alfred & Sally his wife and Maria Liverman by her mother and guardian Phebe Liverman state that Thomas Liverman made his last will & testament and died in March 1818, which will was duly proved and recorded. The will devised two tracts of land to be divided among your petitioners, one of 125 acres more or less adjoining the lands of Benjamin Clayton, the other of 200 acres more or less joining the lands of Selby Armstrong & Isaiah Cahoon. Petitioners pray for division of these lands according to law.

Note of William Alfred dated 30 Dec 1826 in which he promises to pay $350 on demand to Pheba Liverman guardian of Mariah Liverman.

Court order October Term 1820 for John A. Patrick Esqr., David Clayton Esqr. & Thomas Sikes be appointed to divide the estate of Thomas Liverman agreeable to his last will and testament.

Division of the estate of Thomas Liverman deceased on 22 Dec 1820. Balance due the estate of $2352.53. One third to the widow Pheby Liverman amounting to $784.18. Marey Swain, Sarey Allford, Ann Liverman, Mariah Liverman, Thomson Liverman & Prusia Liverman each receive $261.39

Bond dated 1 Apr 1822 in the amount of five thousand pounds apointing Phoeba Liverman guardian to Nancy, Mariah, Thomas & Prusia Liverman orphans of Thomas Liverman deceased, Wm. Alfred & Benjn. Sikes securities.

Bond dated 25 Apr 1825 in the amount of two thousand pounds appointing Phobea Liverman guardian of James Thompson & Prusia Liverman minor orphans, Charles McClees & Fred. davenport securities.

Summons on the 4th Monday of October 1828 for Pheba Liverman to appear at the next session of court and renew her guardian bond for James Tompson & Prusia Liverman children of Thomas Liverman dated at April Term 1825 and also exhibit her guardian accounts. Otherwise the court will appoint a new guardian.

Bond dated 27 Apr 1829 in the amount of four thousand dollars appointing William Liverman guardian of Prusia Liverman a minor orphan, Charles McClees & Fred. Davenport securities.

Guardian account of Phoebe Liverman for Prussia Liverman from July 1820 to July 1830 audited on 17 July 1829 by John B. Beasley & Dempsey Liverman. Balance due Prussia Liverman is $579.58. Includes entries for keeping Chloe and the hire of Ben.

Summons issued 14 Jan 1830 for William Alfred to appear at the next session of court and answer the plea of Phebe Liverman for two hundred and eighty dollars in debt and one hundred dollars in damages.

Petition 12 Feb 1926 by Howard J. Combs stating that Thomas Liverman died about 1820 leaving a tract of 278 acres of land in Gum Neck Township. He claims that he and all of the repondents to the petition except the heirs of Nancy McClees are tenants in common in 171 acres of the 278 acre tract lying west of the McClees canal and proposes sale of the same. In tracing all the respondents who had interest in this land, the petitioner traced the descendents of Thomas Liverman as follows:
