Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1793
Ordered that Miss Frances Mackey have leave to administer on the estate of Col. Thomas Mackey deceased and give bond and security in the sum 10,000 pounds.
A paper purporting to be the last will & testament of Thomas McKey deceased was produced in open court by Frances McKey the widow of the deceased and an issue being made thereon under the directions of the court pursuant to an Act of Assembly in that cause made and provided the jury were empaneled and sworn and upon their oath declared that the above paper is not the last will and testament of said Thomas Mackey deceased.
Ordered that Frances Mackey administratrix of Thomas Mackey deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make returns to next court.

The inventory of the estate of Col. Thomas Mackey deceased was returned in open court on oath by Miss Frances Mackey administratrix ordered filed.

Guardian bond dated 27 Oct 1795 in the amount of 10,000 pounds appointing Edmund Blount guardian to Thos. Mackey Wm. Mackey & Frances Mackey orphans of Thomas Mackey deceased, Thomas Stubbs & Samuel Chesson securities.
Suit filed January Term 1798 by Edmund Blount guardian to the orphans of Thomas Mackey deceased against Miles & Frances Hardy. States that Frances Mackey the then widow & relict of Thomas Mackey signed a bill on 21 August 1797 promising to pay 117 pounds to Edmund Blount guardian of the orphans of Thomas Mackey on the 1st of January next. Before the issuing of the plaintiff's suit a marriage took place between Miles Hardy and Frances Mackey, making him equally liable for this payment, which they have refused to make.
