July Session 1830
Ordered that Isaac Meekins be appointed administrator on the estate of Thos. Meekins deceased & that he enter into bond with Enoch Hassell, David Cahoon & Hardy Bryant & Thos. Alexander in the sum of three thousand dollars.
Ordered that Edmon Alexander, Enoch Hassell & Mathew Brickhouse lay off to Sally Mekins widow of Thomas Meekins her years allowance and report to next term.
October Session 1830
Isaac Meekins administrator of Thos. Meekins returned into open court an inventory & account of sale of the estate of said deceased & filed.
The allowance of Sarah Meekins widow of Thos. Meekins was returned into open court & ordered to be filed.
Isaac Meekins administrator of Thos. Meekins returned a note to creditors certified into court & filed.

Isaac Meekins administrator of Thos. Meekins returned an account of sales of his father's estate on oath.

Isaac Meekins administrator of Thos. Meekins deceased returns the hire of negroes & rent of land for 1832.
October Session 1832
Ordered that Joseph Alexander, Enoch Hassell & Benjn. Brickhouse be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Thos. Meekins Senr. deceased with the administrator & report at next term.
January Session 1833
Jos. Halsey clerk reported to court the sale of the negroes of Thomas Meekins deceased sold for a division amounting to seven hundred and ninety three dollars & 50/100 and the sale of those belonging to the estate of Edward Hunnings sold for the same purpose amounting to nine hundred and seven dollars & 25/100 which reports were received by the court.
Isaac Meekins administrator of Thos. Meekins returned into court the audited account of said estate & filed.
Ordered that Enoch Hassell be appointed guardian to Rachel & Charles Meekins orphans of Thos. Meekins & that he give bond in the sum of fifteen hundred dollars with David Cahoon & Hez. G. Spruill securities.
April Session 1833
Jos Halsey clerk reported to this court the sale of the negroes of Thomas Meekins deceased spld by an order of this court to
make distribution among the heirs ? amount $767.00.
The sale of the negroes of Jno. Meekins sold for the same purpose and the foregoing amount ? $830.71.
Also the negroes of Edward Hunnings deceased sold likewise for the same purpose amount ? $877.73 report confirmed.
The division of the land of Thomas Meekins was returned into open court and filed.

Bond dated 26 Jul 1830 in the amount of three thousand dollars appointing Isaac Meekins administrator of the estate of Thomas Meekins deceased, Enoch Hassell, David Cahoon, Hardy Bryant & Thos. Alexander securities.
Notice dated 9 Aug 1830 by Isaac Meekins administrator of Thomas Meekins deceased for all persons owing the estate to make payment and all persons having claims against the estate to present those claims within the time prescribed by law. Certified that notices were posted at the house of William Etheridge, at the Fort Landing, at the chapel on the sound and at the court house by E. Hassell on 25 Oct 1830.
Laying off of the years allowance to Sarah Meekins widow of Thomas Meekins deceased and her three children who are under age on 20 Aug 1830.

Petition January Term 1833 by Isaac Meekins Sarah John Richard Nancy Ann Thomas Rachel Charles Meekins stating that their father Thomas Meekins died intestate seized and possessed of several tracts of land. Rachel & Charles are under twenty one years age and petitioners request a guardian be appointed for them and that the lands be divided according to law.
Bond dated 30 Jan 1833 in the amount of fifteen hundred dollars in which Enoch Hassell is appointed guardian of Rachel & Charles Meekins orphans of Thomas Meekins deceased, Hezekiah G. Spruill & Simeon Brickhouse securities.
Division of the lands of Thomas Meekins deceased on 14 Mar 1833 which include the Island Plantation valued at $1,000, the Scuppernong Plantation valued at $198.85 and the Scuppernong Plantation where Isaac Meekins lives valued at $142.85 which total $1341.70, making each of the nine heirs share $149.07. The Island Plantation was divided into seven lots, each valued at $142.85, Lot 1 of 28 acres to Richard A. Meekins, Lot 2 of 26 acres to Lavina Ann Meekins, Lot 3 of 16 acres to Sarah Meekins, Lot 4 of 26 acres to Nancy Meekins, Lot 5 of 22 1/3 acres to Rachael Meekins, Lot 6 of 23 acres to John Meekins and Lot 7 of 47 acres to Charles Meekins. Lot 8 valued at $142.85 went to Isaac Meekins and Lot 9, the Scuppernong Plantation, valued at $198.85 went to Thomas Meekins who pays $7 to each of the other lots. Recorded on 17 May 1833 in Book 17, page 154 of the land records of Tyrrell County.
Bond dated 28 Jul 1834 in the amount of five hundred dollars in which Richard Meekins is appointed guardian to Charles Meekins orphan of Thomas Meekins deceased, Ephraim Mann & Uri Spruill securities.
Petition in 1842 (?) stating that Thomas Meekins, father of the peitioners, died leaving his widow Sarah and the following children viz. Sally, Isaac, John, Richard, Nancy, Lurenia Ann, Thomas and Rachael & Charles the last two infants who now appear by their next friend Isaac Meekins. Petitioners state that they with their mother hold in common four negroes of their father's estate named Brutus, Phoebe, ? & Lucy. They ask for a decree that the negroes be sold and division be made giving one tenth to their mother and one tenth to each of the children.
