Ordered that C. C. Hazleton administer on the estate of Jordan S. Meekins deceased and that he enter into bond of four hundred dollars with Jordan L. Jones & William B. (?) Cahoon securities.

January Session 1843

C. C. Hazelton ? returned the account of sales of Jordan A. Meekins property.

There are a number of documents in this file dealing with the recovery of debts from Jordan S. Meekins by Thomas G. Cooper, C. C. Hazleton & George HorswellBond dated 24 Oct 1842 in the amount of $400 appointing C. C. Hazleton administrator of the estate of Jordan Meekins deceased, Wm. B. Cahoon & J. L. Jones securities.

Petition at July Term 1843 of Christopher C. Hazleton, administrator of Jordan S. Meekins, who is a creditor of said Jordan in the amount of $25. The personal estate is insufficient to pay this debt. Petitioner further shows that said Jordan died seized and possessed of 25 acres of land joining Nancy Meekins and others that was formerly the property of Wm. Liverman. Said Jordan left this land to his heir at law, Jordan Meekins, an infant of tender years to whom said land descended. Petitioner prays that said land be subjected to his claim and that said Jordan appear at October Term next to answer this petition.

Bond dated 27 Jul 1847 in the amount of $1,000 appointing Jordan L. Jones guardian of Jordan S. Meekins, orphan of Jordan S. Meekins deceased, F. Patrick & L. Babbit securities.

Account of sales of the lands sold by petition of J. L. Jones, guardian to Jordan Meekins, sold on 25 Oct 1847.

Summons dated the 4th Monday in July 1854 and issued 6 Sep 1854 for Thos. Swain & B. F. Sikes, administrators of J. L. Jones and Fredk. Patrick & Luther Babbitt to appear at court on the 4th Monday in October next to answer unto the State of North Carolina and H. A. Gilliam, next friend of Jordan S. Meekins in a plea that they render unto him $2,000 which they detain to his damage $1,000.

Bond dated 24 Jul 1854 in the amount of $1,000 appointing Benj. F. Sikes guardian to Jordan S. Meekins, a minor orphan, Tully davenport & John A. Cooper securities.

Bond dated 26 Jan 1856 in the amount of $10,000 appointing Luther Babbitt guardian of Jordan Meekins, a minor orphan, with Henry McClees & Benja. A. Spruill securities.
