November 8, 1766
In the name of God Amen in the forty ninth year of my age and in the year of our Lord God seventeen hundred and sixty and six I Thomas Man of Terril County North Carolina being sick and weak in body altho of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to almighty God therefor and calling to mind and memory the mortality of body and knowing it is once appointed for all men to die do ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like decent mannor at the descretion of my wife nothing doubting but at the general resurection but I shall receive the same again by the almighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate it has pleas God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner & form viz. Imprimis it is my will and I do order that in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfied.
Item I give and bequeth unto my daughter Sarah Mann one negro girl named Rose and in the next place I give and bequeth unto my son Joseph Man one peace of land lying on Roan Oak Island Currituck County containing three hundred & thirty acres beginning upon the south east corner his unkle Joseph Mans land and southeast across the island & in the next place I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Man three hundred acres of land adjoyning on his brothers Joseph land and in the next place I give and bequeth unto my Edward Man three hundred acres of land adjoyning his brother Thomas land and in the next place I give and bequeath unto Abraham Fuller sixty acres of land with all the improvements thereon when he comes of age to receive it from my son Edward Man and in the next place I give and bequeth to my son Solomon Man one piece of land lying on Crotan adjoyning on the south side of his unkle Edward Man and running across to the great swamp the same course as the posts is set across the plantation and running down south east to the corner called Thomas Mans corner & to the great swamp and in the next place I give and bequeth unto well belved wife Hester Man my mannor plantation with all the improvements thereon dureing her natural life and all my household goods and negroes dureing her widdowhood with cattle hogs and horses on Crotan Durenis (?) Island and Roan Oak Island acknoleging this and no other to be my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disalow revoke and disonal all and every other former testaments wills ? and exectrs. by me in any ways before this time named willed and bequethed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eight day of November 1766

Also my will is after signing the above will that my vessel that is building and now upon the stocks and on my brother Joseph Man land be finnished and launced and I do desire my wife to seel her and convert the money to her own use as her right by my will to my manor plantation above written in this land and witness my hand and seal this eight day of November 1766.
