In the name of God amen: I, Samuel Mann being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory and knowing that all men must die I freely give up my body to be buried at the discretion of my executors and my soul I freely resign to God who gave it in full and certain hope of the sresrection and as touching such worldly goods as it has pleased God to bless me with I give & dispose of in the following manner.
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Christian Mann one third part of the plantation and land whereon I now live also one negro girl Peggy one feather bed and furniture. Further I lend the use and benifit of the whole of my palantation and my negro man Pompey and Margaret a girl with all the horses cattle and hogs and sheep to me belonging with my plantation tools, also my big canoe and Little Do. The mill and the use of the out houses with the useing things about the house and kitching all which lent property is for the benifit of raising and educating my children also two feather beds and furnture.
2ly - I give and bequeath to my Joseph Mann my plantation and land lying between John Myditts and Soloman Manns plantation on Croaitan with all my lands on Spencer point or Southermost point of Croiatan. ---
3d - I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Mann all the land and plantation whereon I now dwell containing by estmation five hundred and seventy acres also one hundred acres of land or marsh hereunto joining also after the marriage or death of my wife. I give unto my love said son Edward my negores man named Pompey. Further I also give unto my love said son Joseph Mann my negro woman Margaret after the marriage or death of my wife.
4th - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Christian one negro girl name Penny.
5th - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly Mann one negro girl about twelve years of age to be bought by my executors as soon as money can be collected out of my estate.
6th - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Fanny one negro girl eight or ten years to be bought by executors as soon as money can be collected of my estate. I leave all the rest of my parishable property that is undisposed of to be sold at public sale and the money arising therefrom in the first place to be applied to the purchasing the above negroes for my above said daughters Polly and Fanny and the rest remaining after paying all my just debts one forth I give unto my afsaid wife Christian Mann and the ballance to be equally divided. I do nominate and appoint my beloved wife Executrix with Belcher David Jur. Samuel Johnson my sole executor to this my last Will and Testament confirming this to be my Will and no other as witness my hand and seal this the 2 day of Jany. 1801.

January Session 1801
The last will and testament of Samuel Mann was proved in open court by Solomon Mann one of the subscribing witnesses and filed.
Christian Mann widdow of Capt. Samuel Mann came into open court and quallifyed as executrix to the last will and testament of the said Samuel Man deceased.
On motion ordered that Mrs. Christian Mann widdow of Capt. Samuel Mann deceased be appointed guardian to the heirs of Capt. Samuel Mann to wit Joseph Mann Edward Mann Polly Mann Christian Mann & Fanny Mann and hath given bond in the some of two thousand pounds Soloman Mann and Belsher Daniel securities.

Bond dated 10 Apr 1815 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing Joseph Mann guardian to Christian Mann orphan of Samuel Mann deceased, Edward Mann & William Combs security.
Bond dated 10 Apr 1815 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing Edward Mann Junr. guardian to Fanny Mann orphan of Samuel Mann deceased, Edward Mann Senr. & Joseph Mann security.
Division of the estate of Samuel & Christian Mann deceased on 28 Aug 1815. The accounts of Joseph Mann administrator of the estate of Samuel & Christian Mann were examined and a balance due the estate of $1615.80 was found. This was divided into five equal shares of $323.16 distributed according to the will to Joseph Mann, Edward Mann, Polley Carroon, Christian Mann and Fanny Mann.
