March Session 1758

Read the petition of Ann More praying for administration of the estate Mores More. Granted: and entered for security Edmond Smithweck Esqr.& William Carkeet in the sum of one thousand pounds starling.

September Session 1758

The petition of Ann More read praying an order of sales of so much of the estate of Morris More as will pay the debts and charges. Ordered, granted.

December Session 1766

On motion of William Bonner for a devision of the estate of Morris More deceased ordered that John Hardison, Luke Mizell & Edmd. son Edwd. Smithwick devide the same and make return to our next court of such their proceedings.

On motion of William Bonner it is ordered that the said William Bonner be guardain of James Moore & Morris Moore orphans of Morris Moore deceased & enters James Gainer & Henry Roberson securities in the sum of 1000 pounds.

August Session 1768

Ordered that Martin Griffin be guarding of the estate of James Moore & Morris Moore orphans of Morris Moore deceased he giving security in the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds & enters William Bonner & Edmd. son Edwd. Smithwick securities which was approved of by the court.

On motion of Wm. Bonner for a division of the estate of Morris Moore deceased ordered that John Hardison Edmond son Edward Smithwick Luke Mizel & William Carkeet or any three of them be appointed to divide the said deceaseds estate and make due return of their proceedings therein to next court.

Personally appeared Martin Griffin William Bonner & Edmd. son Edwd. Smithwick and duly acknowledged their due execution of a guardian bondfor the tuition of James Moore & Morris Moore orphans of Morris Moore deceased.

February Session 1769

Personally appeared William Bonner and ehibited his account the estate of Morris Moore deceased referred to Edmond Smithwick & William Slade Esquires to inspect and report to the court.

Ordered that Martin Griffin guardain of James Moore & Morris Moore orphans of Morris Moore deceased hire out the negroes of the said orphans & rent out their land to the best advantage.

May Session 1769

William Bonner exhibited his account with the estate of Morris Moore reffered to be examined by Edward Smithwick & William Slade Esquires to of the members of our sd. court by which account there appears 214 pounds, 10 shillings & 4 pence due to the sd. William Bonner & that he hath received by hire of negros 200 pounds & 10 shillings the ballance due to him 14 pounds & 4 pence and proved the same on his oath ordered to be filed.

February Session 1770

Personally appeared Martin Griffen guardain of the orphans of Morris Moore and exhibited his account and there appears to be a ballance due to him; ordered to be recorded & filed.

August Session 1774

Ordered that Edward Smithwick & John Hardison audit the accounts of Martin Griffin guardian of the orphans of Maurice Moore deceased and make there report of the same to next court.

Account of the sales by Anne Moore of the estate of Morris Moore on the 15th day of an unstated month in 1758. Total sales were 142 pounds and 2 shillings and included a negro girl named Lucey. Returned at June court 1759.

Bond dated 8 February 1760 in the amount of one thousand five hundred pounds appointing Martin Griffin guardian of James & Morris Moore orphans of Morris Moore deceased, William Bonner & Edmd. son Edward Smithwick securities.

Bond dated 16 Dec 1766 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing William Bonner guardian of James Moore orphan of Morris Moore deceased, James Gainer & Henry Roberson securities.

Bond dated 26 Nov 1772 in the amount of five hundred pounds wherein James Moore takes into his possession his real and personal estate and pledges to properly manage it and hold the court harmless.
