In the name of God amen: I John Marret of the aforesaid county and
province planter being very sick & weak in body but of parfect mind and memory
thanks be gaiven to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and
knowing that it is apointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this
my last will and testament that is to say principale and first of I gave and
recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to
the earth to be buried in a Christian desent manner at the discretion of my
executors nothing doubting but that at the General Resurrection I shall receive
the same again by the mighty power of God and touching such worldly estate
which it hath pleased God to blees me with in this life I gave and demise and
depose of the same in the following manner & form.
Imprimis- I gave and bequeve unto my Ingr son Samuel Marret one shilling
starling for his whole & soal part of my estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son John Marret one shilling starling for his
whole & soul estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my daughter Mary Stafford one shilling starling
for her whole & sole estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my daughter Ruth Hogg one shilling starling for
her sole & whole estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son Hezekiah Marret one shilling starling for
his whole & soul estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son Zachariah Marret one shilling starling
for his whole & soul estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son Jesse Marret one shilling starling for
his whole & soul estate of inheritance.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son Isaac Marret one third part of all my
parsonall estate and half of all my land that is at the northward that is to
say all the lands in Maryland and in Kent County in Pensilvania to the said
Isaac Marret to pay half my debts that I owe for his part to unto him & his
heirs and assigns forever.
Item- I gave and bequeve unto my daughter Kizia Marret the third part off all
an singular the third part of all my moveable estate free and clear of all
incumbrances my sones Isaac Marrett and Jonathe Marret paying all my debts unto
her and her heirs and assigns forever for her part.
Item- I give and bequeve unto my son Jonathan Marret one third part of all my
parsonall estate he and his brother paying my debts that is to say Isaac Marret
and Jonathan Marret pay all my debts that her sister Kizia Marret not to have
any part of her third part dimished toward paying any part of my debts and
likewise I give unto my son Jonathan Marret the half of all the lands that I
have at the Northard that is to say all the lands I have in Dorchester County
in Maryland and likewise the half of the lands I have in Kent County in
Pensilvania the half of all the land called and known by the name of Good Luck
containing two hundred and fifty acres and likewise a tract of land called &
known by the name of Neighborly Kiness containing one hundred and fifty acres
and likewise the half of all and seglar every part and parcel of land or lands
and likewise all the rents that is due ever since I came from there and as I
gave orders to sell some other lands when I came away the half of all the
income of the rents and the half of all the money that is due by the sail of
these lands if sold otherwise the half of the lands to be equally divided
between the said Jonathan Marret & his brother Isaac Marret for his part unto
him and his heirs and assigns forever.
I do hereby utterly disanul avouch and dissalow all & everey other will
and testament anywise before this time named willed and bequeved will and do
allow this and no other to be my last will and testament In witness whear-of I
have hereunto set my hand & seal this day 15th of December Anno Dom 1770

The last will and testament of John Marret was proved in open court by Rolan Hog who deposeth that John Marret was of sound & disposing mind & memory at the time of signing the same ordered that the Secretary have notice that letters testamentary may issue.
