In the name of God Amen I G. L. Owens of Gum Neck in the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina do hereby make publish and declare this my last will and testament hereby revoking any and all wills by me heretofore made.
First I direct my Exector hereinafter named to pay my funeral expences and all my Just debts and liabilities as soon as conveniently be done after my deceise.
Second, I hereby direct my Exector L. H. Tarkenton as soon as conveniently after my deceice to sell all of my chattle proity at public sale at my premises for cash to the hiest bidder and also my land and timber to be sold at public sale seperately at the court house dare in the county above mentioned the timber to be solde seperately from the land and after my funeral expence and debts are settled by my Exector L. H. Tarkenton the balance of my estate to be Equally divided between my four children Nancy M. Tarkenton, W. L. Owens, Phebee A. Creef and Sarah C. Ireland.
Third I hereby nominate constitute and appoint L. H. Tarkenton Exector of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affix my seal this the 28" day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

A paper purporting to be the last will and Testament of G. L. Owens deceased is exhibited before me the undersigned clerk of the Superior court for said County by L. H. Tarkenton the executor therein mentioned and the due execution thereof by the said L. H. Tarkenton by the oath and examination of Claud F Jones and James M Meekins the subscribing witnesses thereto for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper-writing now shown him purporting to be the last Will and Testament of G. L. Owens in the presence of this deponent subscribed his name at the end of said paper-writing which is now shown as aforesaid and which bears date of the 28th day of April 1902. And the deponent further saith. That the said G. L. Owens the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid declare the said paper-writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last Will and Testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said Will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of said testator. And this deponent further saith that at the said time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last Will as aforesaid and at the time of the deponents subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto as aforesaid the said G. L. Owens was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a Will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information of belief of this deponent: And further these deponents say not.

It is therefore considered and adjudged by the court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of G. L. Owens deceased. Let the said Will together with the probate be records and filed this 7th day of January 1903
