Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1823
Administration on the estate of John Phelps deceased was committed to Zebulon Tarkenton who entered into bond with approved security and quallified agreeable to law ordered that leters of administration issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and account for the same as the law directs.
October Session 1823
Zebulon Tarkenton administrator on the estate of John Phelps returned on oath in open court the inventory & account sales of said estate to amount of $24.50 & filed.

Phelps, John Junr., 1819
Bond dated 30 Dec 1822 in the amount of five hundred dollars appointing Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of the estate of John Phelps Junr. deceased, William Walker & Alexander Dillin securities.
Petition September Term 1823 by Nancy Phelps stating that her late husband John Phelps died intestate on or about May 1819 and at July Term 1823 Zebulon Tarkenton administered upon the estate of the said John Phelps. Petitioner is the widow of her late husband and he also left heirs four children to wit Fanny O. (?) Phelps, Gracie S. Phelps, Deborah S. Phelps, Downing Phelps and she requests that her years allowance be layed off.
Summons on 21 Jun 1824 for Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of John Phelps deceased and Joseph Bateman to appear in court or before a Justice of the Peace to answer the complaint of the administrator of Hezekiah Spruill deceased to the use of William Tarkenton in a plea of debt by old judgement in the sum of sixty dollars.
