Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1786
Ordered that Francis Cummins be appointed guardian to Lamuel Pitts orphan of John Pitts deceased and gives bond in 500 pounds - Col. John Warrington & Col Hezekiah Spruill securities.
July Session 1787
Ordered that Lamuel Pitts orphan of John Pitts be bound unto John Hassell River for the term of ten years and the said John Hassell is to learn the said Lamuel Pitts orphan to read, write & cypher as far as the rule of three also the art & mistery of a cord winder.
