January Session 1842
Ordered that William B. Cahoon administer on the estate of Hardy Powers and that he enter into bond of five hundred dollars with John Dunbar & Isaac Meekins securities.

There are many documents in this file dealing with the recovery of debts from Hardy Powers and none with recovery of debts due Hardy Powers. Persons claiming debts were Ludford Cahoon, George Horswell, Hardy Liverman, Gordin Smith, Ashby Liverman, Wm. Alfred to use of Benjamin Sikes, Elikem Swain, Jesse Sikes, Charles McClees & Co., S. S. Simmons & Wm. G. Armstrong.

Petition February Term 1842 by Elizabeth Powers whose husband Hardy Powers died recently for her year's allowance out of the personal estate.
Execution dated 2 Jan 1843 against the lands of Hardy Powers Senr. deceased to satisfy the judgement Hardy Powers Junr. recovered against him on 24 Oct 1842 for the sum of $57.74 with interest from the date of judgement.
Summons dated the 4th Monday in April 1846 and issued 18 Jun 1846. Whereas Jesse Sikes lately recovered $5.95 with interest from 19 Nov 1842 against William B. Cahoon, administrator of Hardy Powers, and there being no goods & chattels belonging to Hardy Powers deceased, it was suggested by the plaintiffs that Hardy Powers died seized and possessed of lands & tenements in this county. Plaintiff prays due execution on said lands and the court wants it made known to the heirs of Hardy Powers viz. Matthias Powers, Hardy Powers, Albert Powers, John Powers, Jesse Powers, Mary & Jordan Cahoon, Sarah Powers, Charlott Powers & Mary Powers that they are to appear in court on the 4th Monday in October next to show cause, if any, why execution should not proceed against said lands.

Cahoon, administrator of Hardy Powers, and there being no goods & chattels belonging to Hardy Powers deceased, it was suggested by the plaintiffs that Hardy Powers died seized and possessed of lands & tenements in this county. Plaintiff prays due execution on said lands and the court wants it made known to the heirs of Hardy Powers viz. Matthias Powers, Hardy Powers, Albert Powers, John Powers, Jesse Powers, Jordan Cahoon and wife Mary, Sarah Powers, Charlott Powers & Mary Powers that they are to appear in court on the 4th Monday in October next to show cause, if any, why execution should not proceed against said lands.

Plaintiff prays due execution on said lands and the court wants it made known to Matthias Powers, Hardy Powers, Albert Powers, John Powers, Jesse Powers, Mary & Jordan Cahoon, Sarah Powers, Charlott Powers & Mary Powers that they are to appear in court on the 4th Monday in October next to show cause, if any, why execution should not proceed against said lands.
