This family bible was in the possession of Blanche Walker Cohoon prior to her death in 1999. Blanche, the daughter of Sara Halsey Patrick Walker and Arther Linwood Walker, was born February 27th, 1902 in Columbia, Tyrrell County, North Carolina. This family bible is currently in the possession of Blanche's daughter, Gail Cahoon of Columbia, N.C. It was transcribed by Patricia Litchfield as read from the subject Bible by Gail Cohoon and Christine Ambrose on January 25, 1998 at the Tyrrell County Genealogical and Historical Society meeting. It is printed in the Tyrrell Branches, October 1998 by the Tyrrell County Genealogical and Historical Society, and is posted here by permission of Gail Cahoon.
Inside the Bible, dated April 8, 1802 (or 1809?), is a poem or epitaph written and signed by Fredrick
PATRICK which partially reads:
When I am dead and in my grave,
And all my bones are rotten
When this you read, remember me,
Although my name may be forgotten.
