In the name of God Amen
I Leven Roads of the county Tyrrell County & state of North Carolina being in good health of sound mind and memory calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make the following to be my last will and testament in manner and form following -
Item I give to John Rhoads the land on the waterside of my plantation beginning {unreadable} Olive Island Swamp running southerly and easterly along a line of marked trees to Sikes Cosway crossing my manner plantation
Item I give unto Simeon {torn} the land {unreadable and torn} running on William Brickhouse line then along my line easterly to the Elbow Branch then along said branch to the main road then along the road to sd. William Brickhouse line to the first station if said Simeon Roads should without heir the sd land to be divided equally among the rest of my children I don't mean this will to concern with any of his movable estate -
Item I give to Isaac Roads children one dollar each
Item I give to Prissilla Cooper the land whereon now living running easterly down the {torn} branch to the main road then along the road to John Roads line to join {unreadable word} line
Item I give to Amelia {torn} fifty acres of land joining to Etheridge line and my {torn} line to Simeon Roads line then along his line to Prissilla Coopers line
Item I give to Clarkey Brickhouse and Joanna Roads all my plantation land joining Amelia and Prissilla Cooper and John Roads land
Item I leave all my movable estate to be equally divided between my {large tear} Priscilla {tear} Amelia Roads Clarkey Brickhouse & Joanna Roads I also leave Benjamin Brickhouse my sole and executor of this my last will & testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventeen

Benjamin Brickhouse qualified executor to the last will & testament of Levin Roads in open court.
