In the name of God amen: The twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord 1787 I Edward Roussom of Tyrrell County being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be unto God therefore, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it: and for my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis - I give and bequeath unto Hannah my dearly beloved wife one chest and all the money that is due to me and three head of cattle forever. And of the remaining so far as to pay my debts to be sold for six months credit and the other to be sold for twelve months credit and put to interest till my children shall come to the age of twenty one and then to be equally divided and I desire that my four boys John Isaac Joseph and Job be bound out in some town to some Smith that works for shipping or block maker or carpenter or taylor till they come to age and I do nominate and appoint Roger Snell and John Leary Executors to this my last Will and Testament to see that every thing herein contain - be fulfilled according to the true intent and meaning hereof and I do utterly revoke, disallow and disannul all and every other former Will - In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

The last will and testament of Edward Rousham deceased being exhibited in court by John Leary and proved by the oath of Cornelius Leary ordered to be recordd

Also the said John Leary qualifyed as executor to the said deceaseds last will and testament.
