Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1788
Ordered that Frances Smith widow of Jacob Smith deceased have leave of administration on the estate of said Jacob Smith deceased and give bond in 200 pounds Nehemiah Spruill and Miles Spruill securities and qualifyed accordingly. Also returned on oath an inventory of the said decesead estate ordered filed.
January Session 1789
Ordered that Francis Smith administrator of Jacob Smith deceased have leave to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and make return to next court.
April Session 1800
Ordered that Edward Phelps be appointed guardian to William Smith orphan of Jacob Smith on giving bond in the some of two hundred pounds with King Spruill & Andrew Oliver securities.

Bond dated 9 Oct 1788 in the amount of two hundred pounds appointing Frances Smith administratrix of the estate of Jacob Smith deceased, Nehemiah Spruill & Miles Spruill securities. Signed with her mark.
