Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
April Session 1798
Ordered that John Smith have leave of administration on the estate of John Smith deceased and give bond & security in the sum of 500 pounds John Liverman & Zebedee Smith securities & qualifyed accfordingly.
John Smith administrator returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of John Smith deceased ordered filed.
Ordered that John Smith administrator of John Smith deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make return to next court.
July Session 1798
John Smith administrator of John Smith deceased returns in open court an account of sales of the estate of said amounting to 190 pounds or there abouts filed.
April Session 1799
An account of sales of the estate of John Smith deceased amounting to 126 pounds, 6 shillings & 5 1/2 pence was returned in open court by the administrator ordered filed.
July Session 1799
Ordered that Elizabeth Smith be appointed guardian to Sarah Smith & Mary Smith orphans of John Smith deceased and give bond and securities in the sum of 300 pounds each Gideon Cohoon & Michael Powers securities.
July Session 1802
Ordered that Henry Bateman be appointed guardian to Sarah Smith & Mary Smith orpans of Jno. Smith deceased and has entered into bond in the sum of five hundred pounds Stephen Hooker & Jesse Bateman securities.
Ordered that Henry Bateman have leave to sell the chattel property of Jno. Smith deceased and make return to next court.
July Session 1804
The petition for partition of land wherein William Smith and others are petitioners in the lands of Jno. Smith deceased was filed by Jno. Clayton agreeable to law.
January Session 1806
Ordered that Sarah Smith orphan of John Smith be bound to John Richardson to be educated agreeable to law and {nothing further}

Administrator's bond dated 24 Apr 1798 in the amount of five hundred pounds in which John Smith is appointed administrator of the estate of John Smith deceased, John Liverman & Zebedee Smith securities.
Guardian bond dated 28 Jul 1802 in the amount of five hundred pounds appointing Henry Bateman guardian of Sarah Smith & Mary Smith orphans of John Smith deceased, Stephen Hooker & Jesse Bateman securities.
Petition July Term 1804 for division of the lands of John Smith deceased by his heirs, William Smith, Sawyer Smith, Dorcas Smith, Ann Smith, Sarah Smith & Mary Smith. Their father, John Smith died intestate on or about 19 Oct 1798 seized of a tract of land on the east side of Great Alligator River joining Isaac Meekins & Jonathan White. Division can not be effected without a court order due to the fact that Sarah & Mary Smith are infants.
Judgement dated 31 Jul 1806 and issued 2 Aug 1806 against the heirs of Jno. Smith deceased, to wit: Wm. Smith, Sawyer Smith, Ann Smith, Dorcas Smith, Sarah Smith & Mary Smith for 2 pounds, 16 shillings & 3 pence.
