Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1799
Ordered that William Smith have leave of administration on the estate of John Smith deceased and give bond & security in the sum of 1,000 pounds John Richardson Robert Sawyer & Joseph Long securities.
William Smith administrator of John Smith deceased returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of said deceased ordered filed.
Ordered that William Smith administrator of John Smith deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make returns to next court.
Ordered that John Richardson be appointed guardian to Elizabeth Smith Thomas Smith & William Smith orphans of William Smith deceased and give bond & security in the sum of 500 pounds each William Smith & Shadrack Allcock securities.
Ordered that John Clayton Esqr. John Liverman son of Wm. & Isaac Meekins be appointed to set apart & lay off to Elizabeth Smith widow of John Smith Junr. deceased one years allowance out of said estate and make returns to next court.
July Session 1799
John Clayton Esqr. one of the auditors appointed to audite and settle the accounts of William Smith deceased with the administrator of John Smith deceased who was executor to William Smith returns the accounts in open court settled and ordered filed.
October Session 1799
The account of William Smith administrator of John Smith is returned in open court audited and find the administrator to have fully administered as per returns filed.

Administrator's bond dated 27 Jan 1799 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing William Smith administrator of the estate of John Smith deceased, Joseph Long John Richardson & Robert Sawyer securities.
Guardian bond dated 27 Oct 1799 in the amount of three hundred pounds in which Elizabeth Smith is appointed guardian to unnamed orphans of John Smith deceased, Gideon Cahoon & Michael Powers securities.
