Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
April Session 1822
Administration on the estate of James Snell was committed to Joseph Snell who entered into bond with approved security & quallified agreeable to law ordered that letters of administration issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and account for the same as the law directs.
July Session 1822
Inventory & account sales of the estate of James Snell deceased was returned in open court on oath by Joseph Snell his administrator & filed.

Bond dated 2 Apr 1821 in the amount of four hundred pounds appointing Joseph Snell administrator of the estate of James Snell deceased, Zebulon Kemp & John Alexander Capn. securities.
Account of the sale on 25 Oct 1824 of the land of James Snell Junr. deceased on execution by Silas Etheridge against James Snell Junr. deceased. Sixty two acres of land bought by Silas Etheridge at 81 cents per acre, totaling $48.
