January Session 1829

Ordered that Enoch Hassell be appointed administrator on the estate of Zebulon Spruill deceased & that he give bond and proceed as the law directs.

Ordered that Nancy Spruill widow of Zebulon Spruill have her years allowance laid off out of the estate of her deceased husband & that Matthew Brickhouse, Richard Howett & John Brickhouse Sr. lay off said allowance and report to next term.

April Session 1829

Enoch Hassell administrator of Zebulon Spruill returned in open court an account of sales and inventory of the estate of said Spruill.

Matthew Brickhouse one of the commissioners returned the years allowance laid off to the widow of Zebulon Spruill.

July Session 1830

John Spruill administrator of Zebulon Spruill deceased returned an inventory & account sales of said estate & filed.

October Session 1830

Ordered that Joseph Halsey, Jno. A. Shaw & Saml. Rogers be appointed to audite the account of Zebulon Spruill with Enoch Hassell the administrator & report to next term.

January Session 1831

Ordered that Richard Howett, Mathew Brickhouse & Hez. G. Spruill be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Zebulon Spruill and report to next term.

Bond dated 26 Jan 1829 in the amount of three hundred dollars appointing Enoch Hassell administrator of Zebulon Spruill deceased, Richard Howett & Jesse Swain securities.

Year's allowance for Nancy Spruill, widow of Zebulon Spruill, and their three children on 13 Feb 1829 by Mathew Brickhouse, Richard Howett & John Brickhouse.

Summons dated 17 Feb 1829 for Isaiah Swain to appear before a Justice of the Peace in Columbia on the 28th instant to answer the complaint of Enoch Hassell administrator of Zebulon Spruill deceased in a plea of debt due by note in the sum of fifty dollars and ten dollars damages. Judgement was made by default to include interest from 7 Mar 1826 and lawful costs. Execution was issued on 20 Mar 1829 and on 24 Mar 1829, for want of goods & chattels, the land of Isaiah Swain was sold. The land was adjoining Jesse Swain and others on the east side of Scuppernong River near the School House Landing on Second Creek.
