Spruill, Dempsey, 1842
Summons dated the 1st Monday in March 1842 and issued 27 Jul 1842 for Jesse Hassell, Samuel S. Simmons, Thomas L. Hassell & Richard D. Hassell to be in court on the 1st Monday in September next to answer unto the State of North Carolina to the use of W. A. Spruill executor of Dempsey Spruill that they render and pay to the use aforesaid $4,000 which they owe and detain, damages $150.
