Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1803
Ordered that Henry Norman Esqr. John Bateman & Levi Bateman be appointed to audite settle & divide the estate of Edward Spruill & make return to next court.
April Session 1803
Capt. Jno. Bateman returned in court the audited account and division of the estate of Edward Spruill deceased on which return a ballance was found in favor of the estate of 39 pounds, 4 shillings & 9 pence which was divided into two equal parts which is 19 pounds, 12 shillings & 4 1/2 pence to each which return is filed.
Hezekiah Jennett was appointed guardian to Simion Spruill orphan of Edward Spruill deceased and has entered into bond in the sum of two hundred pounds Jno. Bateman & Nathan Ansley securities.

Spruill, Edward, 1796
Administrator's bond dated 26 Jan 1796 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing Mary Spruill administratrix of the estate of Edward Spruill deceased with John Ansley & John Bateman securities.
Execution dated 23 Jan 1797 and issued 24 Feb 1797 against Samuel Spruill for court costs in a suit he brought against Edward Spruill's administratrix.
Court order January Term 1803 that Henry Norman Esqr. Capt. John Bateman and Levi Bateman audite and settle the estate of Edward Spruill deceased among the heirs and make return to next court.
Settlement and division of the estate of Edward Spruill administered by Dr. Hezekiah Jennett and Mary his wife dated 23 Apr 1803. Estate divided into two parts. Commissioners were Henry Norman John Bateman & Levi Bateman.
Guardian bond dated 25 Apr 1803 in the amount of two hundred pounds appointing Hezekiah Jennett guardian of Simion Spruill orphan of Edward Spruill deceased with Jno. Bateman & Nathan Ansley securities.
