North Carolina In the name of God amen: In the ninth day of August in the year of our Lord 1758. I William Swinson of North Carolina in the County of Tyrrel Carpenter being very sick and weak in bod but of perfict mind and memory thank be given to God for the same and calling to mind mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be burried in a Christain like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worley Estate wherewith it hath pleased to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the manner and form following that is to say in the first place I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Harrison one shilling sterling money of Great Britain also I give to my two gransons William William an Francis Durrance my cattell all except four head to be equealy to be divided betwixt the two brothers and my carperters tools to be devided betwixt Welcome William an Francis Durance and my gun to the said Welcome William ---
Also I give to Mary Bengall all my houshold goods and all my crop groing and all my tools for the plantation use also I give to the said Mary the four head of cattel before excepted which is to be two cows and calves also I constitute make and ordain William Collins my only and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I doe hereby utterly disalow revoak disnull all and ever other former Testaments Wills and Legacies bequests Executors by me in any wise before this time named willed bequeathed retifing and confiming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said William Swinson as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us interlined these two words my in the place of crop and constitute in the place of also I make before assigned.
