Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1805
Ordered that Mary Sawyer have leave of administration on the estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased and hath given bond in the sum of five hundred dollars Caleb Marchant and Christopher Sawyer her securities.
Mary Sawyer returned in court on oath an inventory of the estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased which is filed. The above inventory was withdrawn by the said Mary Sawyer and sworn to return one agreeable to law in ninety days.
Ordered that Paul Thoroughgood Esquire Devotion Twiddey Benjamin Twiddey & Daniel Sawyer be appointed to lay off the years allowance to Mary Sawyer out of the estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased and make return to next court.
Ordered that Mary Sawyer administratrix to the estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased and make return to next court.
January Session 1806
Mr. Daniel Sawyer returned an allowance of one years provision for the widow & young children of Griffin Sawyer deceased agreeable to the audited accounts to the amount of seventy two dollars & 21 cents filed.
April Session 1806
Selby Patrick returned in court an account of sales of the movable estate of Griffin Sawyer deceased which is filed.
October Session 1806
Ordered that Griffen Sawyer an orphan boy be bound to Leven Sawyer to learn the art and mistery of a cordwinder and be educated agreeable to law.
