In the name of God Amen. The twentyseventh day of February one thousand seven hundred and forty seven I William Tarkington of Tyrrel County in the Province of North Carolina Planter, being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to God for the same. Therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing yt it is appointed for all men once to dye, do make and ordain this my Last will and testament That is to say-----

Principaly & first of all, I give & bequeath my soul into the hands of God yt gave it me and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent buriall at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the General Ressurection I shall receive ye same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give & demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis - I give & bequeath to Anne my dearly beloved wife, one third part of all my household goods debts and moveable effects and the use of my house and Plantation during the term of her natural life.

Item - I give and bequeath to John my well beloved son a parcel of land beginning at ye Sheep Neck Branch on the percosan and following ye sd Branch where it leads in to Gaylors land and straight throug it's pond to Batchlor Folley and keep then ye sd Branch westerly to the percosan and so along ye sd percosan to the first station.

Item - I give and bequeath to Joshua my well be loved son a percil of land beginning at Batchlers folley straight from there to my out side line through Willcasous Ridge to my cross line and along ye sd line westerly to the persocan then Binding on ye sd percosan and his brother Johns line to the first station.

Item - I give and bequeath unto Benjamin and Joseph my will be loved sons a percel of land beginning on ye Gam Bro___ on the percosan and running up ye sd percosan to his brothers Johns line then along ye sd line to his brothers Joshuas line and then along ye sd line to ye cross line then along ye sd line easterley to the Daneing hickery then along ye sd branch south side to Thomas Wynnes line then along ye sd line to the percosan then binding on ye said percosan tothe first station.

Item - I give and bequeath to William & Zebulan my sons a percil of land including my plantation being ye remainder part of my land withing the bounds afsd. to be equaly devided between them togather with my dweling house

Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Mary three head of Cattle two head of old sheap---and all the remainder part of my moveable Estate I give and bequeath to be equaly devided between my daughters Anne, Sarah, Joanna and the rest of my sons before named, after discharging all my lawfull debts and I do make and ordain Anne my well beloved wife my sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, and I do hereby utterly disalow, revoke & disannull all and every other former Testaments, wills, Legasics and bequeats & Executors by me in anywise before named willed and bequeathed Ratifiing and confirming this and no other to be my Last will and Testament. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above writing.
