A receipt from John Davis Junr. to Charles Spruill bearing date the 2nd day of September 1799 for money received for the executors of Zebulon Tarkinton or the person entitled to receive it in the state of Tennessee for 55 pounds, 14 shillings & 10 pence was proved in open court by the oath of Reuben Davis and John Swain and ordered registered.
