Dated 22 September 1842


I David Tweedy Senior do make and declair this to be my last Will and Testament revoking all others I do hereby give and bequith to my son Jonathan Tweedy one negro man Peter after my death & my wife Fillis

I also lend to my daughter Sarah Sanderson her natural life time and then to be eaqually divided among her children one negro boy Cooper & negro girl Vina -

I also lend to my bequeathed daughter Polly Harriss her life time & then to be eaqually divided among her children one negro girl Nicey and one negro girl Dolly -

I also lend to my bequeathed daughter Fanny Swain her lifetime & then to be eaqually divided among her children one negro woman Penny & one boy Sam

I also lend to my bequithed daughter Anna Homes her life time & then to be equally divided among her children one negro woman Susan and one boy Berry her son

I also give & bequethed grand son David Pritchet one negro girl named Jane & my gun

I also give to my grandson Thos. Twedy one feather bed that I loaned to his father & ten dollars in cash

I also give to my grand daughters Betsy & Mary Tweedy & grand son Jonathan Twedy fifteen dollars in cash to be eaqually divide among them at my death

I also give to my son Jonathan Twedy one fether bed his choice

I also give all my chattel property & real estate to be sold & be equally divided among my following children namely my son Jonathan Tweedy and my daughters Sarah Sanderson & Polly Harriss & Ann Homes & Fanny Swain

After all my just debts is paid I also bind my heirs to support my wife Fillis ? her life time I do leave my son Jonathan Tweedy executor to this my last Will & Testament given under my hand & seal this the 22 day of September 1842.

The foregoing last Will and Testament of David Tweedy was exhibited in open court by Jonathan Tweedy the executor therein named and admitted to probate and the same was duly proved by the oath of Samuel G. Salyear a subscribing witness thereto, who swore that he saw David Tweedy the testator sign, seal, publish and declare the above writing to be and contain his last Will and Testament, that at the time thereof the said David Tweedy was of sound & disposing mind and memory and that he did it freely & without compulsion.
(By the Court) let the same be recorded
