September Session 1756

North Carolina - Know all men by these presents that I Charles White of Tyrrel County and province of North Carolina taylor for divers considerations and good causes hereunto moving have maid ordained constituted and appointed my trusty and well beloved wife Mary White in the county and province aforesaid my true and lawfull attorney for her in her own name and to her own use and liberal desposal to aske, recover, demand and receive of any man or maner of person within the said county or else where within his majestyes domion all the debts that is justly due to me. Likewise doth by these presents on sundry considerations make over, surrender, deliver up unto her the said Mary White all my hole estate either real or personal to be desposed of according to her request giving by these presents granting to my said attorney my sole and full powers and athority to take, parsew, and follow such legal cources for the recovery, receiving and obtaining of the same as I myself might or could do were I personally present and upon the recpts. of the same aquetancis and other sofisant disscharges for me and in my name to make, signe and deliver as also one more attorney or attorneys under her to substitute or appoint and againe at her pleasure to revoke and further to do perform and finish forme and in my name all and singular thing or things which shall or may be nesery tuching and concerning the premices as fully, thougherly and intirly as I the said Charles White in my owne person might or could do in and about the same, rectefying, alowing and confirming whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do in and about the execution of these premises by virtue of these presents in witness hereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 31 day of May ano de. 1756. Signed by Charles White in the presence of Joseph Norman and Jeremiah Norman.

December Session 1756

To all people to whome these presents shall com I Charles White do send greeting. Know ye that I Charles White of the County of Tyrrell in the province of North Carolina taylor for and in consideration of the love and good will and affection I have and do bare toward my son in law Samuel Norman of the same county and province have given and granted and by these presents do freely give and grant unto the same Samuel Norman his heirs, executors or administrators all and singular my goods and cattells now being in my present dewelling house and else where to be found in the county and province aforesaid of these presents. I have delivered him the said Samuel Norman signed with my owne hand and bareing even date to have and to hold all the said goods and chattells in the said premisses or dwelling house or else where to him the said Samuel Norman his heirs, executors or administrators from hence forth as his and thire proper goods and chattells absolutly without any manner of condition in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this second day of July 1756. Signed by Charles White in the presence of Andrew Long and Giles Long. Proved on oath of Andrew Long.

March Session 1758

Ordered that Joseph Norman be appointed guardian to Jemima Norman, John Norman, Steven Norman, Elisha Norman, orphans of Mary White deceased. Nemiah Norman, Alexander McKeb in the sum of five hundred pounds Proclamation.

And on motion of Joseph Norman ordered that John Hooker. Steven Hooker & Capt. Joseph Spruil devide the estate of Mary Norman deceased and make return to next court.

Joseph Norman exhibited an inventory of the estate of Mary White deceased which inventory was proved by the oath of John Spruil & ordered to be filed.

To all to whom these presents shall come I Samuel Norman send greeting. Know ye that I the said Samuel Norman of the County of Tyrrel and in Scupernung planter for and in consideration of the love, good will and affection which I have and do bear towards my loving mother Mary White of the county and place aforesaid have given, granted and by these presents do freely give and grant unto the said Mary White the whole estate that she is now posest with to use, occupy and injoy during the turn of her natural life and after death to be equally devided between Samuel Norman, Joseph Norman, Nehemia Norman, John Norman, Stephen Norman, Elijah Norman, Jemina Norman, Jeremiah Norman, all and singular her goods and chattels now being in her dwelling house in the county aforesd. of which these presents I have delivered her the said Mary White an inventory signed with my own hand and bearing even date to have and to hold all the said good and chattells in the said premises or dwelling house to her the said Mary White from henceforth as her and their proper goods and chattels absolutely without any manner of condition. In witness whereof I have here unto put my hand and seal this eleventh day of October Anno Dom. 1756. Signed by Samuel Norman. Recorded by Fr. Ward.

September Session 1759

Personally appeared Nemiah Norman and acknowledged his bond for the guardianship of Elijah Norman & ordered filed.

June Session 1759 ?

Personally appeared Elijah Norman and on his owne free will chose Nemiah Norman his guardain and enters Capt. Joseph Spruill Esqr. and Samuel Gray securities in the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds procla. money.

Joseph Norman exhibited his account as guardain of {unreadable} Norman, Elijah Norman, Steven Norman {unreadable} upon his oath. Ordered to be recorded.
