WORLEY, LOVICK
North Carolina In the name of God amen I Lovick Worley of the County of Tyrrell being
sick and weak in body but of perfect memory & judgement thanks be given to God therefore do make and ordain this to be my last
will & testament, first of all I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian
like manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter mentioned and as for my worldly estate I dispose of the same in manner
and form as followeth (viz.)
Imprimis - My will is that my two negro girls (viz.) Moll & Bess and their increase (if any they should have) be
not divided until my loving daughter Ann Gray Worley be twenty one years old or marry
2dly - I give and bequeath to my loving wife Ann Worley after my just debts are paid the one half of all my personal
estate to her her heirs and assigns for ever. I also lend to my sd. wife the use of my lands & plantation whereon I now live
during her natural life.
3dly - I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Ann Gray Worley (after my just debts are paid) the one half of all my
personal estate in case she lives to be twenty one years of age or is married; and if in case my sd. daughter should die
before she is twenty one years of age or marryed I give and bequeath to my loving brother John Worley his heirs and
assigns ten pounds lawfull money of Great Brittain to be raised out of that part of my personal estate I have given to my
daughter and the remainder of that part of my personal estate I give and bequeath to my loving brother in law William
Gray and my loving sisters in law Lucretia Gray, Amelia Gray & Louisa Gray to be equally divided amongst them
share and share alike to them their heirs and assigns forever.
4thly - I give and bequeath to my loving daughter Ann Gray Worley all my lands I am now possessed of on proviso she
lives to have a lawfull heir begotten of her body and her sd. heir lives to the age of twenty one years or is marryed on such
provisions I give her the lands. Otherwise I give and bequeath to my loving brother John Worley all my sd. lands
{remaining two lines of this paragraph are not readable}.
Lastly I appoint my loving wife Ann Worley my executrix and my loving brother in law William Gray my loving
uncle James Blount & my loving friend Thos. Whitmell my executors to this my last will & testament revoking &
disanulling all former or other wills by me made acknowledging and ordaining this to be my last will and testament In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24th day of January Anno Dom 1754.

Then was the within will duly proved in open court by the oaths of Thomas Kimsey and David Cannady two of the
subscribing witnesses thereto and at the same time William Gray and Ann Worley was duly qualified as ex. & exx.
thereto as the law directs. Ordered that the Honorable James Murray Esqr. Secy. have notice that letters testamentary
issue thereon accordingly.

March Session 1754
The last will and testament of Lovick Worley was proved in open court by the oath of Thomas Kimsey & David Canaday in due form of law and Ann Worley and William Gray qualified as executors.
An inventory of the estate of Lovick Worley was proved in open court by the oath of Ann Worley.
William Gray executor of the last will and testament of Lovick Worley deceased praying an order to have the said deceased estate devided, which is granted and ordered that John Daliy, Thomas West, Evan Jones devide the same and make return to the next court.
September Session 1756
On motion of William Gray praying for a division of the estate of Lovick Worley ordered that James Blount Esqr., Giles Long Esqr. and Stevens Lee devide the same and returne their devision to next court.
March Session 1757
Motion William Gray praying the court to appoint deviders to devide the estate of Lovick Worley deceased accordingly the court appoints the following gentm. or any two of the three , James Blount Esqr., William Rhoads & Benjamin Blount & to return the same to next court.
September Session 1759
Personally appeared Mr. Henry Slaid and exhibited the devision of the estate of Lovick Worley deceased; ordered to be filed being devided agreeable to an order of last court.
Personally appeared Henry Slade exhibited an inventory of sundry goods of the estate of Lovick Worley deceased burnt and not devided and proved the same on his oath and on motion ordred to be recorded and filed.
Read the petition of Henry Slade for an order of court to sel the perishable part of the estate of the orphan of Lovick Worly deceased; on motion granted.
September Session 1760
Henry Slade exhibited an acct. of sails of part of the estate of Lovick Worley deceased and proved the same on his oath ordered to be recordd & filed.
Personally appeared William Collins and Henry Slaid and exhibited an account of sales of part of the estate of Lovick Worly deceased & proved the same upon their oaths on motion ordered to be filed.
June Session 1759
On motion of Henry Slade for a devision of the estate of Lovick Worly deceased ordered that Benjmin Blount, John Hardison Esqr. and John Daly any two of the aforesd. gentm. are appointed to divide the estate of sd. Lovick Worly and make return to the next court.
November Session 1770
Read the petition Ann Slade praying a division of the estate of Lovick Worley deceased &c ordered that Benjamin Blount Esqr. Jos. Ballard Jams. & Thomas Harrison Senr. divide the same according to the will of the testator & make return thereof to our next court.
