Night Watchman at State Hospital Succumbs at 76
Goldsboro, March 11 – Sam ANDERSON, 76, died at his home near the State hospital at Goldsboro at 9:30 Monday night following an illness of about a year.

Mr. ANDERSON had been night watchman at the State hospital for about eight years and was prompt and efficient in his work. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Goldsboro.  Surviving are his wife and several children.

Funeral services were conducted from the home by his pastor Rev. Peter McINTYRE, at 1 o’clock Tuesday and interment was in the family burying ground near Faison.

 

LYNCH, Maggie (d. 1930)

Mrs. Maggie Lynch Dies at Her Goldsboro Residence
Goldsboro, Nov. 22 — Mrs. Maggie LYNCH, widow of Haywood LYNCH, died at her home in this city at 11:45 o’clock this morning following an illness of about three months.

Funeral will be held from a local undertaking parlor at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, and interment will be in the family burial ground in Buck Swamp township.  Surviving are two stepsons,  Capt. M.J. LYNCH, of Goldsboro, and George LYNCH, of Greensboro.

PRICE, Adell (d. 1930)

Goldsboro, May 22 – Adell PRICE, 20, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Earl PADGETT, on Slocumb street early Wednesday morning, following a lingering illness of tuberculosis.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. A.P. TOMPSON, of Baltimore, and the following brothers and sisters: Ben and Robert PRICE, both of Baltimore: Frank and Paul PRICE of Hunert: Theodore PRICE and Mrs. Earl PADGETT, both of Goldsboro, and Mrs. J.W. SMITH of Emporia, Va.

Funeral services were conducted from May’s chapel, near Dudley at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon by Rev. Mr. ROUSE.

FIELDS, George (d. 1905)

George FIELDS, a young man, was found dead in the woods near Dudley. His head was badly mangled. There are conflicting rumors as to the cause of his death, some thinking that he was murdered and others that he was struck by a falling tree.

BIZZEL, Thomas B. (d. 1857)

At his plantation in Sevier county Arkansas, on the 11th November of Pneumonia, Thomas B. BIZZEL, leaving a wife and three children to mourn his loss. Mr. BIZZEL was born in Wayne county, North Carolina, on the 4th September, 1817, emigrated to Arkansas in 1852. He was a loving husband, kind father and warm friend. In his death the community has lost a worthy citizen. – Paraclifta (Ark.) Times

BRYAN, Elizabeth Allen (d. 1928)

Mrs. James BRYAN, nee Miss Elizabeth ALLEN, died at her home at Goldsboro this morning at 2 o’clock. She was daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. William R. ALLEN. Sisters – Miss Mary Moore ALLEN and Mrs. John DUNCAN. Brothers – Attorneys William and Olive ALLEN. Rev. J. M. DANIELS will officiate the funeral tomorrow. Decedent was niece of the late Judge O.H. ALLEN. A sister, Mrs. DUNCAN was born Miss Dorothy ALLEN. Brother-in-law – Robert BRYAN.
