Think we had an earlier conversation about him. If so, this family seems prone to a violent end. Robert was the son of Elisha, who was the son of John Applewhite of Wayne County. I have his name as Elisha Daniel Applewhite (though tombstone omits the Daniel) b 1830 and died Aug 13 1865. He was married to Sarah Matilda Vail, dau of Benners Vail and Susan Alford. They had 4 children: Henry, Thomas, Jesse and George E.L. Applewhite. Elisha Daniel\u00a0Applewhite&#8217;s only brother was Bartley Deans Applewhite who married Sara Matilda&#8217;s sister\u00a0Mary Ann Vail.
