Assignment on a Bill of Sale for a Negro Woman
Rec'd of ALEXAND G. McKINZIE the sum of four Hundred & Twenty five
dollars for my right and title to the said Negro CLOE named in the
within Bill of Sale and invest him with all and every title to the
same as the within Bill of Sale does in me and I do hereby warrant
and forever defend the Right and Title to the said Negro Girl from
me my Heirs and Assigns forever. In witness of the said same I sent
my hand and seal this 5th May 1819.

Wilkes County
Know all men by these presence that I JOSEPH ALLEN of the County of
Burke and State aforesaid do sell and convey to MARK MERRIMON of the
County of Wilkes and State aforesaid a Negro woman by the name of
GRACE and her boy DANIEL the woman aged thirty six years
and DANIEL aged Seven months both of which Negroes are sound,
healthy and sensible and he the aforesaid JOSEPH ALLEN doth warrant
and forever defend the right and property of said Negroes to him
the said MARK MERIMAN his heirs and assigns fore ever. In witness
whereof he the aforesaid JOSEPH ALLEN doth hereunto set his hand and
seal the 28th day of July 1819.
