To all whom these presents shall come
Greeting:
Know ye that I SARAH GORDON of the County of Wilkes and State of
North Carolina, relict of GEORGE GORDON deceased for the natural
love and affection that I bear to my beloved son JOHN GORDON and for
divers other good causes me hereunto moving doth freely give Grant
and Bequeath unto him the said JOHN GORDON and his heirs forever at
my decease two Negroes (to wit) JAMES a boy about
seven years old, HARRIOTT a girl Eleven years old, to
have and to hold to him the said JOHN GORDON and his heirs Executors
and Administrators and bind myself my heirs Executors and
Administrators forever to warrant and defend the rite and title to
said Negroes to said JOHN his heirs Executors and Administrators. In
testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day
of October 1818.

Know all men by these presents that I JAMES
GRAY SEN'R of the County of Wilkes & State of North Carolina have
this day bargained sold & delivered unto JAMES GRAY JUN'R of the
aforesaid County & State one Negro girl names JUDA
about thirty two years of age for two Hundred & twenty five Dollars
it being for full value received therefore, I do hereby bind myself
my heirs Executors Administrators & assignees to warrant & forever
defend the said Negroe from any person or persons whatsoever also do
warrant the said Negro to be a healthy sound Negroe. Given under my
hand & Seal this 15th day of September 1814.
