Vol 8., p. 191: Indenture between James Latham and Anthony Latham for 40 pounds made 18th July 1800; James Latham acknowledged receipt of payment from Anthony Latham; sd James Latham also hath bargained, sold, and delivered unto sd Anthony Latham, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land lying on both sides of Fork Creek, it being part of 600 acres tract as the original grant from sd state to the sd James Latham bounded as follows: beginning in the corner in the south fork of said creek and running thence west on the original line 28 chains to a pine, thence N 20 chains and 80 links to a sweet gum in the bank of a Branch then east 9 chains and 50 links to a pine thence N ___ said Creek ___ ___ 49 chains and 50 links to a stake in the original line thence east on the old line 18 chains and 50 links to the old corner stake then south on the old line and ____ the creek to the beginning containing by estimation one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less. Nov term 1800 the exectution of this deed of conveyance was duly proved in open court by the acknowledgment of James Latham Jr and ordered to be registered.
Abstracted: Vol 8, p. 202: This indenture made this 4th day of Jan 1801 between Cornelias Latham of Moore county and state of NC and William Smitherman of Randolph Co; for consideration of the sum of 100 pds given to Cornelius In hand…for a certain tract of and lying in Randolph Co on the Meadow Branch waters of Fork Creek bounded by their own lines; Feb term 1801 execution of the above deed of conveyance (not finished)
Abstracted: Vol 8, p. 204: Cornelius Latham of Moore Co and William Latham of Randolph County, NC for consideration of 20 shillings to him in hand paid before the sealing of these presents the receipt wherof is hereby acknowledged and bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell, grant and convey unto the said William Latham a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Randolph on the Meadow Branch waters of Fork Creek and bounded as follows…Cornelias agrees it is free and clear…Feb term 1801, deed of conveyance was duly proved in open court by William Smitherman and ordered to be registered.

Vol. 8, p. 351: 17 Jan 1806, John Latham of Randolph County, NC and John Lucas of the same county in consideration of forty dollars paid in hand by the said Lucas, the receipt thereof is freely acknowledged by the said John Latham to the said John Lucas, his Exec & Adm’r, one certain tract of land lying in the county aforesaid on Bumper’s fork of Little River bounded as follows: beginning in or near (Bumper’s Fork of Little River — crossed out) or Isaac Sander’s line at a stake running ? to George Lucas line then N. with said Lucases line ______sd Bumper’s fork of Little River and So on sd line to a stake then ? to Sd Sanders line thence to the beg containing one hundred acres together with all woods waters mines _____ ___ thereto belonging or apportaining to hold unto John Lucas his heirs assigns forever & the said Joh Latham doth hereby ____ and agree to and with the said John Luas his heirs __ and that the said John Lucas shall and may herafter peaceably and quietley have hold occupy, possess, and ___ the before mentioned land without Lease? or notes taken of all P____ whatever…the said John Latham doth oblige himself his heirs executors, or admins and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend the before granted lands to him the said John Lucas his assigns and heirs forever, in witness thereof the said john Latham doth hereunto set his hand and seal; Aug session 1803 The execution of the above deed of conveyances was duly proven in open court by Richard Graves and ordered to be regstered.
Volume 9, p. 300: To all People to whom these presents shall come, Know ye that I James Latham Sen do lend greeting that I the said James Latham Sen of Randolph County and state of North Carolina for and in consideration of the love, goodwill, and affection which I have and do bear towards my beloved son Enoch Latham of the aforesaid county have given and granted and by these presets do fully give and grant unto the said Enoch Leathum and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land, the place where I now live lying on both sides of Fork Creek in the aforesaid county of Randolph containing 300 acres be the same more or less and bounded by William Smitherman’s line on the South side of sd fork Creek and on the North side sd Creek by James Latham Junr’s line thence along James Latham’s line to Anthony Latham’s line thence along sd line to the beginning with all it’s apportations _____ _____ and _____ thereof with the following condition: that the said James Latham Sr does not relinqush my full right and title to the sd within mentioned land and Premises during the natural life of my self and my wife Elizabeth Latham neither in the said Enoch Latham or his heirs in any manner to M____ us on our free Privaledge and Engagement of said land and plantation but for him the said Enoch Latham and his hiers freely to Possess the sd granted lands and premises after the death of my self and my wife Elizabeth of which before the signing those presents I have delivered unto him the sd Enoch Latham for him and his heirs freely to possess as above mentioned in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of February 1803. February Term 1803, the execution of the above deed of conveyance was duly acknowledged in open court by James Latham and ordered to be registered.
Book 9, p. 304: To all people to whom these presents shall come. I, James Latham Sr do lend greeting, Know ye that I James Latham of Randolph County and state of N Carolina for and in consideration of the love, goodwill, and affection which I have and do bear towards my loving son James Latham, Jr of the afore said county have given and granted and by these presents do hereby give and grant unto the said James Latham Jr and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land in Randolph County containing 150 acres be the same more or less with all its _____________ Rights ______ and presents and bounded by the lines of William Smitherman on the West thence __. Bounded by John Lawrance’s line on each side of Lawrances’ fork thence South to the ________; thence West along said line to Wm Smitherman’s line on Fork Creek; without any manner of condition of which before the signing of these presents I have delivered unto him the said James Latham Jr the above mentioned land and premises for him and his heirs freely to possess in witness thereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 7th day of February 1803. The execution of the within deed of Conveyance was duly acknowledged by James Latham and ordered to be registered.
