You are welcome to submit any queries or research questions to Brittany Jenkins, but I think people reach a wider audience through the forums and lists below.

LOOK-UPS

We’ve had a kind offer from someone to do limited look-ups at the Randolph Room at the county library in Asheboro. This is not an offer to do research, but rather to search for and obtain copies of source documents, such as marriage records, bastardy bonds, etc.

Examples of appropriate requests are: (1) Is there a bastardy bond for a Catherine Lewis around 1890? (2) Is there a Randolph County death certificate for Catherine Lewis Hammond?

Please limit your requests to a maximum of three documents, and please be specific about the names and dates involved. Contact Jean Covington LaCoss with your request, and, since she uses Earthlink, you will get an automatic reply that you will need to answer before your email is delivered to her inbox.

(Thank you, Jean, for your willingness to help others!)

If you would like to be a look-up volunteer, please contact the county coordinator.
