The Tyrrell and Washington County Census was the responsibility of Levi Blount, assistant to the Marshall for the District of North Carolina. This combined census was completed about the 28th day of March 1801. Page 668 of the Tyrrell County inhabitants was copied and placed with the Washington County inhabitants (page 717) several years later. The last eight columns of data (Tyrrell County page 669) were not copied to Washington County (page 717). This transcription includes the missing eight columns from the Tyrrell County data.

Washington County on 11-7-16.)

the census taker. Even obvious spelling errors are not corrected. For

columns.
Overall the handwriting was excellent, however there were a few cases where is was difficult to decipher a name. As a result, there may be some mistakes. Most questionable names are flagged with a "?". There was some difficulty distinguishing between "e" and "i", and between "o" and "a ". If you find a discrepency between the original document and this data, please let me know so this data can be corrected.
