North Carolina - Moseley Map of 1733

The Edward Moseley Map of North Carolina

The East Carolina University copy of the Moseley Map is the only known original print of this historic map in the United States. Their copy was donated by Mrs. John W. Graham of Edenton and is on permanent display in the reading room of the East Carolina Manuscript Collection in J.Y. Joyner Library.

Reproduction copies on heavy paper stok suitable for framing, are available by mail for $15.00, (+$5.00 postage) They may be ordered from Douglas Smith at Joyner Library, ECU, Greenville, NC 27858. Checks should be payable to Friends of Joyner Library. Proceeds from map sales benefit library programs.

Meherrin River from Virginia forms the Northampton-Hertford County Line and then flows across Hertford County into the Chowan River.

Bertie Courthouse. This was the original County Seat which had to be relocated when Northampton County was created in 1741.
