Ninth Generation45. Hannah SKIDMORE. Hannah SKIDMORE and Charles ROGERS were married in 1796. Charles ROGERS4,5 was born in 1774 in Londonderry, Ireland. Charles Rogers was born in Londonderry, Ireland, in 1774 and supposedly entered America as a stowaway in a hogshead on a freighter which landed on the Virginia coast in 1796. They were married in the same year in Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia) where they lived for fourteen years in the Shenandoah Valley, later moving to what is now Wallback in Clay County, West Virginia. Hannah died in 1847 and Charles died in 1849, and they are buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Wallback. Their children were: John, b. 1796; Margaret, b. 1799;
Levi b. 1803; Noah, b. 1806; Elijah, b. 1809; and James,
b. 1820. |
