131. Henry J. BENNICK95 was born on 2 Apr 1841.96 He died on 23 Jul 1916 in Rutherford County, North Carolina and was buried in Plains Methodist Church Cemetery. He was buried in Plains Methodist Ch. Cem., Rutherford Co., North Carolina. He served in the military Henry J. Bennick served as private in Company I, 50th Regiment, North Carolina Troops. Those records show that he "Enlisted in Rutherford County at age 21, May 17, 1862, for the war. Hospitalized at Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Virginia, July 20, 1862, with parotitis. Returned to duty on November 14, 1862. Reported present in September, 1863-February, 1864, and May-December, 1864. Hospitalized at Raleigh on March 25, 1865, with intermittent fever. Returned to duty on March 29, 1865. Survived the war." [NCT 12:236].
Henry and Mary Emaline moved to the Bear Wallow section of Buncombe County, near the Haywood county line. They are buried at Plains Methodist Church cemetery.
