5162. Pearl Louise SHOOK was born on 9 December 1923 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 29 April 2005 at the age of 81 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. She was buried in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Pearl Louise Shook Watts, 81, of Seventeenth Avenue, NE, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at Frye Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. Born Dec. 9, 1923, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Jason Heber and Zora Naomi Lanier Shook. A member of Augustana Lutheran Church, she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and friend. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Helton; and two brothers, Claude Shook and Gwyn Shook. Survivors include her husband, Grady Edward Watts of the home; a daughter, Vivian Helton and husband, Don, of Hickory; a son, Keith Edward Watts and Debbie Vickers-Watts of Wilkesboro; a grandson, D.M. Helton of San Jose, Calif.; a granddaughter, Kristi Helton of Hickory; two great-grandsons, Clay and Justin Helton of Hickory; three brothers, Ray Shook and wife, Regina, of Columbia, S.C., and Hugh Shook and wife, Joan, and Carroll Shook and wife, Betty, of Hickory; and seven sisters, Clyda Fox, Mary Gantt, Rosa Shook, Lena Fox and husband, Carl, Ruth Cook and Helen Martin and husband, Walter, of Hickory and Frances Langley and husband, Howard, of Catawba. The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Bryce Wandrey at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Stephens Lutheran Church - Mo. Synod Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 tonight.
