Hubert Earl WAGNER and Edna Leona LAIL were married. Edna Leona LAIL, daughter of William Alonzo [Lael] LAIL and Minnie Augusta HEFNER, was born on 10 June 1906 in Catawba County, North Carolina.^1725,1726 She died on 30 August 1987 at the age of 81 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, NC.

2658	iii.	Lewis Ray WAGNER was born on 30 June 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina.¹⁷²³ He died on 12 March 2008 at the age of 80 in Brian Center East, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Lewis R. Wagner, 80, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Brian Center-East after a year of declining health. He was born June 30, 1927, in Catawba County to the late Earl and Edna Lail Wagner. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Wagner. Lewis was of the Lutheran faith and a retired farmer. He is survived by brothers, Hugh Wagner and wife, Kareis, Mack Wagner and Jack Wagner, all of Hickory, and Joe Wagner of Matthews; sisters, Kathleen Travis of Carrollton, Ill., and Earlene Stier and husband, Ken, of Summersville, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Marc Swearingen officiating. Interment will follow in Old St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo. Synod Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Hickory Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658. Hickory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
