Robert Lee "Rob" SIGMON was born on 12 September 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 19 July 2003 at the age of 75 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: X Mr. Robert “Rob” Lee Sigmon, 75, of 5659 E. Bandy’s Crossroads, Catawba, NC died on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born September 12, 1927 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Bessie Setzer Sigmon. He retired after 50 years of service from Broyhill Furniture and retired from Bandy’s Volunteer Fire department. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, and was a Woodman of the World and a member of the Methodist Men. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Alma Brown Sigmon, a brother, Vernon Sigmon and a son-in-law, Joseph Horne. Survivors include: His wife of 53 years: Margaret Holbrooks Sigmon of the home; Daughter: Linda Horne of Catawba; Son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Lonnie Sigmon of Goldsboro, NC; 4 Grandchildren: Brandy Horne, Danny Lethco, Katrina Sigmon, and Heather Horne; 2 Sisters: Flosssie Sigmon of Catawba, NC, Mae Hollifield of Catawba, NC; 2 step-sisters: Margaret Rink of Conover, NC, Mary Millholland of Conover, NC; A brother: Floyd Sigmon of Catawba, NC; A step-brother: Kenneth Sigmon of Catawba, NC. The Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, July 21, 2003 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Claremont, NC. The Revs. Dean Kelly and Larry Rowell will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, 2003 from 6:00- 8:00PM at the church.
