Ray E. SIGMON was born on 28 July 1934 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 10 September 2007 at the age of 73 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Born July 28, 1934, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Clarence Sigmon and Dorothy Melinda Pope Sigmon. He retired as a supervisor with Lee Industries. Mr. Sigmon was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Sigmon, and brothers, Junior Sigmon and Tony Sigmon. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Shook Sigmon of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Bostian and husband, Wayne, of Conover and Tammy Fox and husband, Norman, of Taylorsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Winters and husband, Ed, of Claremont; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Sigmon and wife, Mary Ruth, of Claremont, Joe Sigmon and wife, Betty, of Catawba and Charlie Sigmon and wife, Connie, of Taylorsville; aunts, Rachel Abernathy, Arcola Abernathy and Vivian Hedrick, all of Claremont, and Eunice Pope of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. The Rev. Craig Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Charles Daniel "Charlie" SIGMON was born on 28 October 1945 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 16 December 2010 at the age of 65 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: TAYLORSVILLE - Charles "Charlie" Daniel Sigmon, 65, of Teague Town Road, Taylorsville, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Catawba County to the late Clarence Clifton Sigmon and Dorothy Melinda Pope Sigmon. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, was a Vietnam era Army veteran, and was a retired furniture worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Keefe and Rachel Hefner; an infant sister; a sister-in-law, Angie Hefner Fox; two infant brothers; and a brother, Ray Sigmon. Survivors include his wife, Connie Hefner Sigmon of the home; a daughter, Dee Dee Sigmon Foster and husband, Tony, of Taylorsville; a sister, Mary Lou Winters and husband, Ed, of Claremont; two brothers, James Sigmon and wife, Mary Ruth, of Claremont and Joe Sigmon and wife, Betty, of Catawba; two grandchildren, Jordan Keefe Foster and Noah Cordell Foster; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Millersville Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Kerley. Burial with military honors by DAV Chapter 84 will be in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Saturday, Dec. 18, at Millersville Baptist Church.
