Alice SHUFORD, daughter of William T. SHUFORD and R. Ella MASSEY, was born on 5 March 1910 in Catawba County, North Carolina.^368,2667 She died on 31 January 2008 at the age of 97 in Brian Center, Lincolnton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: LINCOLNTON - Alice Shuford Murray, 97, formerly of Murray's Mill Road in Catawba, died Jan. 31, 2008, at Brian Center in Lincolnton. Born March 5, 1910, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Ella Shuford. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; three sons, Bobby, Bill and Jimmy Murray; four sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Story of Maiden and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Sherry Sipe and husband, Jack, Tony Story and wife, Lisa, and LaRue Black and husband, Doug; great-granddaughter, Emily Black; and two daughters-in-law, Hughleen Murray and Mary Sue Holler. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Catawba United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Catawba United Methodist Church, 207 E. Central Ave., P.O.
