Minnie Ola [Mingus] MINGES and John Lambert MURRAY Sr. were married on 25 December 1901 in Caldwell Twp., Catawba County, North Carolina by Rev. T. J. Rogers.¹⁷⁰² John Lambert MURRAY Sr., son of William A. MURRAY and Harriet Malinda RABB, was born on 10 February 1877.^{947,1702,1703} He died on 4 January 1982 at the age of 104 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁹⁴⁷ He was buried in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, NC. He was the former owner and operator of Murray’s Mill.

2619	vi.	Ocenia MURRAY was born on 13 March 1917 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 18 June 2007 at the age of 90 in Valley Falls Terrace Nursing Center, Spartanburg, S.C.. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Ocenia Murray Moore, 90, formerly of Caleb Setzer Road, Newton, died Monday, June 18, 2007, at Valley Falls Terrace Nursing Center in Spartanburg, S.C. She was born March 13, 1917, the daughter of the late John Lambert and Minnie Cleo Minges Murray. A member of Bethany United Church of Christ, she retired as a dental assistant after working 42 years with Dr. Jack T. Adair in Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward "Bill" Moore; six brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John Carl Ervin and wife, Frances, of Conover; a daughter, Martha Hollar of Spartanburg, S.C.; and grandchildren, Julia Elizabeth Whisenant and husband, Ricky, and their children, Wesley, Zachary and Luke Whisenant, and Joanna Elaine Swanson and husband, Eric, and their children, Lindsay, Collin and Jarrod Swanson. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in the chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Jeff Hammonds officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Claremont. Pallbearers will be Allen McRee, Dr. J.T. Adair, Paul Campbell, Dale Eckard, Terry Moore and Alex Ervin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658. The Moore family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
