1714. Naomi HERMAN was born on 4 April 1911 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 30 June 2006 at the age of 95 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Naomi Caldwell Murray, 95, went home to be with her Lord Friday, June 30, 2006, at Abernathy Laurels in Newton. Born April 4, 1911, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Edith Robinson Herman. She retired from J.P. Stevens Co., and was a member of East Hickory Baptist Church. Ms. Murray was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Caldwell; a second husband, Vert Murray; two grandsons, Mike Caldwell and Rick Caldwell; two sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Caldwell of Hickory, and Donald Bryan Caldwell and wife, Frankie, of Hickory; a brother, Joe (Jim) Herman of Mountain View; two grandsons, Tim Caldwell of Taylorsville, and Dennis Caldwell and wife, Barbara, of Hickory; two granddaughters, Donna Lail and husband, Belmar, of Claremont, and Becky Welch and husband, Wayne, of Greensboro; a stepgranddaughter, Debbie Caldwell of Mountain View; two great-granddaughters, Dereka Lail of Claremont, and Pamela Armstrong of Newton; a great-grandson, Shannon Lail of Taylorsville; and six great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at East Hickory Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mark Reynolds and Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Donald "Bryan" Caldwell, 82, of Catawba County, passed away on May 14, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center after a long period of declining health. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a loving and caring father, husband and grandfather with many loving friends. He was the son of the late Edgar Rea Caldwell and Naomi Herman Caldwell. He is survived by his wife Frankie Caldwell of 61 years, two sons; Dennis Caldwell and wife Barbara of Hickory and Tim Caldwell and Mary Eaker of Taylorsville, a daughter; Donna Lail and husband Belmar of Claremont, a granddaughter; Dereka Lail of Claremont, a brother; Richard Caldwell of Mt. View, one step granddaughter, one step grandson and four step great-grandchildren. Per Mr. Caldwell's request, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church, 609 21st St S.E., Hickory, NC 28602.
