Crawford Lee LAIL and Martha MONEY were married. Martha MONEY, daughter of Royal G. MONEY and Media ANDERSON, was born on 10 January 1922 in Iredell County, North Carolina. She died on 7 January 2009 at the age of 86 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Martha M. (Granny) Lail, 86, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born Jan. 10, 1922, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Royal G. Money and Media Anderson Money. Mrs. Lail was a member of Millers Lutheran Church and retired from Hickory Dye and Winding. She loved working with her hands, enjoyed crocheting, crafts and loved to cook. She loved her family and always put them before anything else. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Lee Lail; a daughter, Kay Johnson; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Lee Lail of Hickory; son, Robert (R.A.) Lail of Asheville; two granddaughters, Lynn Richards and husband, Tracy, of Morganton and Beth Flowers and husband, Max, of Newton; three grandsons, Todd Johnson and Jeff Lail, both of Hickory and Tim Lail and wife, Lisa, of Lenoir; a brother, Paul Money and wife, Lucy, of Orlando, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Ruby Money of Statesville; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Millers Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bob Alle officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church. 4215	i.	Kay LAIL was born on 1 June 1941 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 30 October 2008 at the age of 67 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Fairview (Houck's Chapel) Cemetery, Hickory, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Kay Lail Johnson, 67, passed away Oct. 30, 2008, at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a period of declining health. Kay was born June 1, 1941, in Catawba County to Martha Money Lail and the late Crawford Lee Lail. She was a member of Millers Lutheran Church and was deli manager for Harris Teeters. Surviving are a son, Todd Johnson of Conover; a daughter, Beth Flowers and husband, Max, of Newton; brother, Robert Lail of Asheville; sister, Martha Lee Lail of Hickory; grandson, Justin Johnson and wife, Tabitha, of Hickory; and a number of nieces and nephews. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Alle officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
