Everette Carroll [Lael] LAIL was born on 10 March 1921 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 14 December 2010 at the age of 89 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: VALE - Everette Carroll Lael, 89, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Frye Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Carroll was born March 10, 1921, in Catawba County to the late Rufus Edgar and Sally Herman Lael, and was married to Lorene Huffman Lael. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter and 12 brothers and sisters. Carroll was a member of Millers Lutheran Church and was a retired plumber. Surviving are his wife, Lorene Huffman Lael of the home; two sons, Everette Steve Lael of the home, Jerry C. Lael and wife, Barbara, of Newton; three grandsons, Scott Lael and wife, Jean, of Conover, Bradley Lael and wife, Marsha, of Newton, Aaron Lael and wife, Amanda, of Hickory; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, with the Revs. Charles D. Hensley and Ernest Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church. Condolences may be made online at www.hickoryfh.com.
