4666. Margie COOK was born on 20 January 1933 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 25 March 2009 at the age of 76 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Maiden City Cemetery, Maiden, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: MAIDEN - Margie Cook Sigmon, 76, of Maiden, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her joy was serving her Savior and her family. Margie was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Catawba County to the late Wilburn P. Cook and Lula Ada Lunsford Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Sigmon, four sisters and three brothers. Margie served the Lord at Eastside Baptist Church in Newton, where her son, Don Sigmon, pastors. Surviving are her two sons, Don H. Sigmon and his wife, Elaine Sigmon, and Ricky R. Sigmon and his wife, Sharon Sigmon, all of Maiden; granddaughters, Chantae McDowell and her husband, Joshua McDowell, and Traci Finger of Hickory, Jordan Sigmon of Maiden and Kristen Cline and her husband, Frank Cline, of Lincolnton; grandsons, Aaron Sigmon and his wife, Kiley Sigmon, Brandon Sigmon and Chris Finger and his wife, Sally, all of Maiden; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Adam, Elijah and Faith McDowell, Payton, Ansley and Carsyn Cline, Tucker Sigmon, Landon and Ava Sigmon and Elena Finger. Celebration of her home-going will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Officiating the service will be Margie's son, Don Sigmon. Burial will follow in Maiden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
